Cordless screwdrivers are nothing new, but this model from DeWalt puts a heavy-duty twist on the idea, and professionals are sure to appreciate it. DeWalt's 7.2-volt has the most powerful battery pack of any cordless screwdriver on the market, without sacrificing compact design. This screwdriver gets into all the tight spots cordless drills can't, and unlike other cordless screwdrivers, it won't leave you wishing for more power once there. Purchasers have different needs when they buy tools. I am a DIY'er and I wanted a portable, cordless, driver to replace one that would no longer hold a charge. My new driver would be used in my shop and around our house. It would do those things I would otherwise use a standard screwdriver for. I also wanted a ni-cad battery. At 7.2 v. this unit meets my needs. It is comfortable to use and it is conveniently stored in a hard case.
It is my understanding that this unit is being discontinued by DeWalt which may explain the reduced price, which fits in with my philosophy of paying only a reasonable price for tools that I would like to have but can get along without.

I'm a full time home inspector ( www.ableinspector.com )and I literally use this every day. I'm now online for a new battery as one is dead and the the other one is losing power, but this is after 6 years of continual daily use.
It strains a bit, but can drive a 2.5" screw into wood, one battery charge lasts me 3 to 4 days of daily use.
Oh - and in 6 years of daily use I have never once lost a bit due to the collar lock system. I'm not sure why others have problems, but I sure don't. Maybe they just need to learn to use the tool better??
I knocked one star off because I feel the batteries could be slightly higher quality. they're not bad, but could be better.
Overall, this is by far the best cordless screwdriver I've ever found. It is real heavy-duty tool for heavy duty use.

While sold as a screwdriver, the DeWalt DW920K-2 is also a very practical drill motor and nut driver. I use it on projects that do not require beefy drill motors. The size and weight is excellent for extended use without the tiresome effects of the standard drill motor. The batteries charge quickly and have very good life. I have been using DeWalt products for many years and I truly believe that they are the best products available.

The cordless screwdriver is great. BUT, STAY AWAY FROM PRO TOOL SHED. They have proven to be less that honorable.
