Poor fit for average sized guy August 15, 2008 At 5'11 and 200lbs, I guess I am fairly average sized. These chaps are enormous for 'one size fits all'. They should advertise that they protect your stomach and chest since you have to cinch the belt up near your nipples to keep from tripping over the bottoms. One remark I heard was that I appeared to be a 90 year old man with my Sansabelt slacks pulled up sky high. I wore boots & jeans and they were still very baggy.
I didnt test the function of the chaps, but they seemed to be fairly easy to work in. They were hot though...I had to take them off every half hour to cool off.
All in all, if they do what they are supposed to, I'll be happy to put up with the poor fit and odd looks to keep my legs attached to the rest of my body.
Good but large August 11, 2008 Very good item. It is definitely for adults and you'd better be not too thin. I'm 5'10 and 170lbs, I have to get the leg straps tight all the way and it just fits. It will probably be better in winter with ticker clothe but this will not fit thinner people. Very good protection, recommended for trimmer, brush cutter and logging.
Excellent quality June 23, 2008 These chaps are excellent quality. Easy to get on & off. Only problem we had is my son is on the short side, had to pin them a little for him. Highly recommend them to anyone using chainsaws or weedeater type tools.
Well worth the $. June 21, 2008 If you were to have just 1 mishap with out these chaps it could cost you missed work, medical bills, and maybe even your life...Be safe not sorry.
Safety on a Budget! June 5, 2008 These chaps adjust to fit just about any size and they are long enough to cover to your shoes. I am 6' and 225 lbs and I think I am about halfway in the middle in terms of the range that these will adjust. The nylon padding appears that it will jam a chainsaw on contact. I'll be sure to update this review if I ever find out for sure. :)
