Amazon.com Product Description The Black & Decker 24-volt cordless mulching mower gives you the power to mow or mulch your lawn without the mess, noise, smell and hassle of a gas-powered mower or the limitations of a cord. Using a 24-volt sealed lead acid battery, this mower has enough power to mow up to a 1/3-acre lawn on one charge (grass conditions will affect run-time). It can be operated as a mower by attaching a bag to catch the clippings, or it can be operated as an effective mulcher using a mulch plate; both the bag and the mulch plate are included. The rechargeable 24-volt battery conveniently regains up to 60-70 percent of its full power in only 4 hours, and up to 100 percent in 16 hours; the mower turns on quickly with just a switch. All four wheels can easily be adjusted with a one-touch lever to shift the blade height from 1-1/2 to 3-1/2 inches; the push handle folds down when not in use for more compact storage. This product comes fully assembled, is backed by a full 2-year warranty, and the 19-inch, tough polymer cutting deck has a lifetime warranty.

What a Great Mower August 28, 2008 This mower is awesome -- no cords, very little noise, no exhaust fumes, and it does my entire lawn on one charge! I would recommend this product Black & Decker 19-Inch 24-Volt Cordless Electric Mulching Lawn Mower #CMM1200 to anyone.
Great Mower! August 25, 2008 I have a smaller yard in the city (roughly 60x120) and the cordless mower works great!
The mower was fully assembled. All I had to do was unfold the handle and hand-tighten the bolts. It took about 7 hours to do the initial charge, and I keep it plugged in in between mowing so it is always ready to go.
The mower has one large button to easily adjust the cutting height and has plenty of charge to mow my lawn, which usually takes about 40 minutes. The 19-inch cutting width is a hair smaller than my old mower, but not so small as to be annoying. I hardly notice the difference.
Since the mower is not self-propelled it takes a little more effort to get it up inclines, but nothing grueling. The mower is not light, but it rolls easily on large wheels. My 9 year old son was pushing it around our yard after I got it with no problem at all!
I haven't used the bagger yet, but it does a nice job mulch mowing right out of the box.
Some reviews complain about how loud it is, but you can easily talk over it when it is running and it is loads quieter then my old gas mover, which I needed ear protection to use. The electric motor starts and stops on a dime so it is not problem if you have to stop to pick up a stick or some wayward toy.
So, if you have a smaller yard and want a green mower option I would highly recommend this mower.
We love it August 25, 2008 I got this lawn mower for my parents. They love it. They are elderly and this is perfect for them, no worrying about gas, the battery stays charged all the time, no cords to worry about. They are very satisfied.
Mower Stopped Re-charging after Seven Uses August 24, 2008 This mower was great until it stopped working! It was quiet, mulched well, and the charge lasted long enough to cut our front & back yards (approx. 1/4 acre), BUT... After seven uses, it stopped recharging. I visited Amazon and noticed that others are experiencing similar problems, so Black & Decker is aware of the defect, but failed to be proactive in notifying customers who had purchased and registered their mowers. For this reason, rather than work with Black & Decker, I returned the mower to Lowes (thankfully they issued a full refund) and purchased a gas-powered mower. Wish the Black & Decker had been more reliable!
I'm breathless August 21, 2008 in a good way. First, let me say we bought this mower because my husband just fired the mow and blow guy. I'm thinking big mistake because the work load will probably fall on my shoulders, and I'm no spring chicken. With that in mind, I insisted on a non-gas operated mower. I remember from years back the gas cans, the choke, the tune-ups, but most of all, the endless yanking of the cord to get it started. I searched all the reviews for the Neuton, the Homelite, and the Remington, as well as this Black & Decker. Then we went to the local Home Improvement Center to talk to a salesman. They were sold out, but had them in another nearby store. We were also considering the electric mower that they had in stock, but the salesman quickly advised against it. He said, "You'll get really sick of dragging that cord around." We took him at his word, and went to the other store and got the cordless. Our lawn area is about 1600 sq ft, St. Augustine with some Bermuda mixed in (in our mild climate winter we over-seed with Rye) and has a slight incline. We charged the mower for about 14 hours before using it, and the first time we cut, we adjusted the wheel height (way cool feature) to 3-1/2 inches because it had been two weeks since the lawn was last mowed. The second time (about 5 days later) the wheel height was set to 1-3/4 inches, just to get a closer cut. Oh, and let me just say that starting up the mower is a dream! You honestly won't believe it. Stick in that pretend key and pull a lever. What? How easy is that? Pushing the mower around the yard will give you a great work out. It's not easy, but you'll learn a few tricks as you go, like turns are done very easily when using only the rear two wheels. If the grass is the least bit damp, forget it - the battery will stall. We so far have only used the grass catcher. We have a big Loquat tree in the yard that drops big thick leaves. Chomp, chomp. They're gone. I think the most important thing to know is to keep this thing charged up. I have some other cordless stuff that doesn't work any more because I didn't do that. I'm thinking that other reviewers had trouble with the battery because maybe theirs sat on the showroom floor too long. The box has a date on it. Mine said 2008 - 05. (It was right on the front of the picture of the lawn mower on the short end of the box) I figured that meant it was only sitting around for 3 months uncharged. Now, would I buy this thing again? You bet!
