POOR QUALITY June 9, 2008 Hose is made of very poor quality material. The outer core began unraveling after one use. Would not recommend. Believe TORO makes a good one.
First time use-it worked fine for me. May 18, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I received this product a few days ago and used it to wash my car today. The spigot I used doesn't have a lot of pressure, but non the less, the hose did not leak and performed the way any other hose would. It is made of cloth, like the emergency fire hoses you see rolled up on the walls in buildings. I had no trouble getting it back on the reel. If you close the clip located by the rollers, the water is squeezed out as the hose is rolled up. As I was rolling it up, I did notice one spot that seemed to have a little bump that might be a defect, but that will remain to be seen in future use. I also noticed a very slight bit of fraying in a few spots, but again, time will tell. After rolling it up the first time, I pulled it out again, and did it a second time. It was easier the second time, as more water was squeezed out of the hose. The plastic reel does seem a bit cheaply made, but I think it will last if not abused. I have left it out in the sun, so it wil dry before I store it in my shed. All in all, it performed the way it should, and I'm happy with the item. Again, time will tell if it will last. I may have to review it again in the future and adjust my star rating, but as of now, I think I can safely say it was worth the money.
TOTALLY SUCKS! May 12, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This hose may be a space saver but definitely not a time saver! It's a real pain in the "you know what."
Complete Junk May 12, 2008 23 out of 23 found this review helpful
I bought this at a deep discount store last year and it is complete trash. The woven hose will get water where you need it but leaks along the way killing pressure. Once you've unspooled it you will never want to take the time to completely drain and flatten it to get it back on the spool. I tried and it never did get back in properly (I'm not convinced it's even possible). It might help if the spool was solid, but it is not. It is very cheaply made and cracks/breaks easily. So, once I threw out the holder and resigned myself to using it as a regular hose I hung it on the outdoor hose holder. It then deteriorated and rotted quickly once exposed to the elements. In short, it seems like a good concept, but it's "as sold on tv" trash.
