| Customer Reviews:
Finally -- A Full Powered LED Flashlight August 4, 2008 I compared my old standard 2 D cell MagLite to this LED flashlight in a dark room. The 100 LED flashlight fills the room with reasonably even bluish lighting. The MagLite puts out its standard yellow light focused in a fairly concentrated area which drops off dramatically beyond the concentrated circle in the middle. When superimposing the two lights, the LED flashlight completely drowns out the MagLite in all by the concentrated yellow center. Overall, this LED light is far superior to the MagLite. In fairness to MagLite, they are offering a single 3 Watt LED upgrade available here in Amazon. I've ordered the MagLite upgrade, but have yet to receive it. Back to the LED flashlight being reviewed, it appears the barrel was designed for two C cells, but they came up with a flimsy adapter for four AA cells. The adapter is oversized for the AA cells and I had to stretch out the springs on the negative end of where it is supposed to touch the AA cell. But I really had to stretch it a lot on each slot making for anything but a solid connection. The rest of the flashlight is almost like a MagLite in construction, really robust. Why they had to cut corners in the battery compartment is beyond logic. It was almost a perfect flashlight, but they just blew it on the battery holder. But it still works in spite of this shortcoming.
